Additional Domain Registrar Support
planned
Angelo Saraceno
Certain services require CNAME records at the apex of a domain like Railway. Many registrars don't support this functionality. Other DNS providers have introduced newer DNS standards such as ALIAS and ANAME records that allow CNAME-like functionality at the apex.

I'd like to see ANAME records fully supported (e.g., DNS Made Easy).

The only thing holding me back from using Railway right now is having to use a Cloudflare Proxy because my domain registrar does not fully support CNAME records for the root domain.

Right now, it is painful to connect root domains from Google Domains. The "Workaround 1 - Root Domain Forwarding" is not possible. And "Workaround 2 - Cloudflare Proxy" is friction. It should be as seamless as connecting a subdomain or using any other domain provider.

This would be VERY helpful!

This would be super helpful. My domain provider that I've had for many years will not support using @ for the hostname of a cname record. I really don't want to switch domain providers just for this.

Nicholas Killin: And the described workaround (using a Cloudflare Proxy) is a no-go for me.
